Title: "Mid-Summer, Middle-European Dreams"

"
On a nice summer day I was walking in a crowded downtown area of a middle-European capitol when I saw this homeless person sleeping peacefully on a bench. Perhaps he was dreaming about his own home, family, a warm dinner, or perhaps about meeting other nice homeless people from other countries anywhere on this planet, even in Omaha."

his photo was taken first thing in the early morning from my tent, where we were camping in Wadi Rum. The red sandstone hills were striking in the morning light and Bedouin kids riding by made the image beautifully picturesque."

"
During my trip to Uganda, I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the children. I saw this baby being carried on the back of his only slightly older sister on their daily trip to the water source. They stopped in front of me momentarily to get a look at the mzungus (foreigner or white person) who so rarely are seen in their village."

"I was eating lunch with some classmates at a café and noticed about a dozen kids playing nearby. When we took photos of them and they got to see the pictures on the camera’s LCD screen, they loved it."

When I gave this sad-eyed little girl a spare pen and pad of paper, I had no idea she would stay most of the day, drawing picture after picture, on the steps of the church where we were working. She rarely looked up, rarely smiled, but her pictures were amazing."
