Camp Munroe hosts a variety of unique guests throughout the summer
The University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe Meyer Institute's annual summer camp is in full swing.
The camp is for children with developmental disabilities, and as KETV NewsWatch 7's Maddie Augustine reports some special guests stopped by to greet the kids Thursday.
Camp Munroe is a recreational day camp for kids with developmental disabilities, focused on providing enrichment opportunities and every-day summer activities for ages three through twenty-one.
This summer the camp offered seven different weeklong sessions with each week highlighting a unique guest.
Wildlife Encounters has been coming to Camp Munroe for over 20 years and is always a highlight.
Throughout the visit from wildlife encounters, campers were able to learn about and touch six different animals including a wallaby, American alligator, bearded dragon, boa constrictor, a kinkajou, and a crowd favorite, an armadillo.
