UNMC's Saddle Creek Campus development expands further with new building
A decision today clears the way for more development on Saddle Creek Road in Omaha.
The University of Nebraska Board of Regents signed off on several projects, including the approval for renovating Memorial Stadium.
The board also cleared the way to build UNMC's office and research facility on the new Saddle Creek Campus.
It will be known as the Core building.
That's in addition to the Catalyst Project, using the framework of the old Omaha steel castings plant.
The Core building will include educational facilities, research space, and some areas on the ground floor for retail.
Administrative offices will also be located there.
Construction will begin within weeks with the goal of having it all done in February of 2026.
Like with the Memorial Stadium project, the Core building will rely on financing through the university's internal lending program.
