Participating Institutions
Primarily Undergraduate Institutes (PUIs)
Our program strives to establishing meaningful PUI research programs by awarding Developmental Research Program Project grants to PUI faculty; Mentoring of PUI faculty on their home campuses; Developing campus infrastructure to enhance PUI research capacity; and Creating a research pipeline of undergraduates through the 2-year Scholars Program.

Research Institutes (RIs)
The 2-year Scholars Program is our central initiative linking the PUIs and RIs together into a cohesive program and providing longitudinal data for measuring success of the project. The program offers research opportunities to undergraduates throughout Nebraska and provides access to resources otherwise unavailable at their home institutions. Scholars are selected in their sophomore year by faculty at the PUIs. Scholars start with the program at the RIs for their initial training and then spend the ensuing two academic years and their 2nd summer in the program doing research in the labs of NE-INBRE supported faculty at the PUIs. Below are the participating RIs and the NE-INBRE point of contact for each RI.
