Training Opportunities
The Title IX Office facilitates training for all University of Nebraska Medical Center faculty, staff, and students.
As required by federal statutes and administrative regulations, the Office of the President and each Chancellor shall publicize and conduct ongoing programs for new students and employees and other members of the University community to promote awareness of the problems caused by sexual misconduct and to help prevent and attempt to reduce the risk of the occurrence of sexual misconduct.

Community Connections Lunch Series
The Title IX Office highlights one community partner and the services they can provide for students, employees or families you work with.

Conscious Communication: A Trauma Informed Approach
This one-time time, interactive 60-minute conscious communication training is for key campus officials (Faculty, Staff, & Students). Through this training attendees will be able to understand guiding principles of trauma informed care and understand and apply effective conscious communication skills to a variety of scenarios.

Faculty/Staff Bystander Intervention Training
This is a one-time, interactive 60-minute bystander intervention training for all UNMC faculty and staff. Through this training we hope you will be able to better understand effective bystander intervention, recognize warning signs and practice building health communities, and list interpersonal violence resources.

Student Sexual Misconduct & Bystander Intervention Training
This one-time time, interactive 90-minute, peer-led sexual misconduct and bystander intervention training for all UNMC students. Through this training we hope you will be able to better understand Title IX Policy, consent, sexual misconduct & reporting; recognize relationship dynamics and understand effective bystander intervention; and list interpersonal violence resources.

Annual Canvas Trainings
These training courses must be completed annually in Canvas by all UNMC faculty, staff, and students.

Stalking and Sexual Violence: What Healthcare Leaders Need to Know
A two session training designed for healthcare professionals explores the behavioral definition of stalking and helps participants recognize common stalking behaviors and patterns. Participants will learn how to incorporate evidence-based screening questions into patient care and connect individuals experiencing stalking, domestic violence, or sexual violence with vital community resources. The training will provide practical tools and increase confidence in recognizing and responding to stalking in healthcare settings. Warning: Images, videos & discussions during the training may be graphic in content dealing with homicide and sexual violence.
