UNMC has long been committed to educating and preparing the state's health workforce to ensure students are well-prepared to meet the unique healthcare needs of rural and underserved urban Nebraska.
Through long-standing programs such as guaranteed admission health opportunities programs for rural and urban residents to interprofessional student interest groups, UNMC is helping develop healthcare providers who will improve access to quality healthcare in communities across Nebraska.

Workforce Development
Our office supports workforce development projects that respond to emerging needs, partner priorities and opportunities for innovation. These projects may include rural workforce initiatives, career pathway development, credential pathways, preceptor infrastructure, student housing advocacy, internship partnerships and other efforts that support Nebraska’s health workforce.
Current and future projects will reflect our role in convening partners, supporting implementation, evaluating impact and advancing scalable workforce solutions.
