Ishrat Kamal-Ahmed, PhD, is an instructor in the Department of Epidemiology of the UNMC College of Public Health. Dr. Kamal-Ahmed also serves as operations director and director of health care associated infections and antibiotic resistance epidemiology of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Previously, Dr. Kamal-Ahmed was an epidemiologist research intern at the Minnesota Department of Health, Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention and Control in St. Paul,  and was assistant director of compliance and advising in International Students and Scholars Services at Minnesota State University in Mankato.

Dr. Kamal-Ahmed also was a laboratory analyst at Minnesota Valley Testing Laboratories in New Ulm.
