Wendi C. Jensen, MPA
Wendi Jensen joined the College of Public Health in June 2019, coming from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). She served in several roles at UNO, most recently as Assistant Director of Research Resources, where she worked with faculty to help them obtain funding for their research and creative activity. Wendi also managed the campus’s transition to an electronic proposal routing and storage system and was the founding administrator of UNO’s Annual Student Research and Creative Activity Fair (established in 2009). Prior to her time in the Office of Research, Wendi worked in international Studies and Programs, where she coordinated an archaeological dig in Israel, served as campus study abroad advisor, and managed grant activities for the unit. In her role, Wendi facilitated the proposal development process and worked with campus and community partners involved in collaborative proposals for international training projects. These experiences—working in both an institutional-level office and a busy academic unit—have helped her understand the value that external funding plays in research progress, creative discovery, and educational programming.
