Jihyun Ma joined UNMC in 2018 as a statistician in the UNMC College of Public Health Department of Biostatistics. She previously served as a data manager for the Social and Behavioral Research Consortium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and as a health surveillance specialist in the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Professional Interests

Jihyun Ma is interested in health informatics and AI/ML applications. This includes the utilization of EHR (electronic health records), development of learning health systems, developing and applying AI/ML models, survey design and analysis, big data mining and analysis, large national health data, network analysis, high-dimensional data, and epidemiological research in diseases and health behaviors.

Her specialties include statistical modeling, big data mining and analysis, advanced use of public-use data, probabilistic data linkage, machine learning, Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) application, and GIS applications.
