Dr. Sims has nearly 20 years of faculty and administrative experience in data, research and evaluation. He has led several large-scale program evaluations involving funders across public health and education and has extensive experience working with national leadership development programs.

Before coming to UNMC, he managed a diverse program evaluation portfolio at Jomoworks, an education management consulting firm specializing in University/ K-12 partnership development, and served as faculty and department chair across the nation’s two largest public Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Since joining UNMC, Dr. Sims has collaborated with the COPH Office of Public Health Practice on the Centers for Disease Control funded Public Health Infrastructure Grant and Data Modernization Initiatives, and is an affiliate faculty member in the Center for Reducing Health Disparities.
