Dejun Su, PhD

Dejun Su, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Health Promotion of the UNMC College of Public Health.

Prior to joining UNMC in 2012, Dr. Su was an associate professor in the Department of Sociology of the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, where he also was director of the South Texas Border Health Disparities Center.

Research interests

Dr. Su's research examines social determinants of health, especially how risk exposure in early life, occupational career, social relationships, and lifestyle can help explain health disparities. Another area of Dr. Su's research concerns disparities in health care access and how telemedicine and community health workers can help address these disparities.
