Jessica Tschirren, PhD, MPA, serves as assistant dean for student affairs in the UNMC College of Public Health and an assistant professor in the Department of Health Services Research & Administration. In these roles she provides strategic leadership for student affairs, enrollment management, recruitment and admissions, student success and educational services. With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the College, she has held progressively responsible roles spanning public health education, educational services and student affairs. Her work includes developing multi-year strategic enrollment strategies, leading admissions and recruitment initiatives, overseeing student services, supporting student engagement and success and serving as a student advocate.

Prior to joining UNMC, she worked as a healthcare strategy consultant, designing strategic plans, guiding hospital leaders through organizational change and development and data-driven solutions for healthcare systems, hospitals and clinical leaders. Dr. Tschirren has been actively engaged in college, campus and national leadership, including service on numerous curricula, student affairs, admissions, accreditation and planning committees. Her professional interests include student success, strategic enrollment management, public health education, student power skill and leadership development, rural access to education and healthcare and strengthening the student experience.
