Program Overview

The Scott Scholars Program empowers medical students to become innovative problem-solvers in health care by applying a human-centered design methodology.

Through immersive experiences such as Design Sprints, community-based projects, and global immersion and research opportunities, students learn to empathize deeply with patients and stakeholders, identify unmet needs, and co-create impactful solutions.

This curriculum fosters a mindset of collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement, essential qualities for addressing the complex challenges of modern health care systems.

Summer Bridge Program

The Summer Bridge Program serves as a foundational experience for incoming Scott Scholars, immersing them in the core values and competencies of the program before the academic year begins.

By moving into their living-learning communities a month early, students build strong connections with peers and mentors while engaging in intensive learning around design thinking, leadership, technical literacy, health care management and global perspectives.

This early start not only fosters a sense of belonging and collaboration but also equips scholars with the tools to make an immediate impact. The Summer Bridge Program is a transformational launch pad that sets the tone for the student's journey of innovation, service, and leadership.
