Abril Rangel-Pacheco

Rangel-Pacheco joined MMI as a predoctoral intern and then post-doctoral fellow in psychology. Prior to joining the MMI team, she received clinical training in school, outpatient mental health, juvenile detention, and hospital settings. Clinically, she enjoys working collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to help children, adolescents, and their families reach treatment goals related to internalizing concerns like anxiety and depression as well as disruptive behaviors. She has an interest in working with youth and adolescents with chronic health conditions like chronic pain and diabetes, youth with neurodevelopmental conditions, and youth involved in the justice system. Rangel-Pacheco uses a collaborative approach to therapy grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and parent training, tailored to meet families’ needs and values. She also is committed to helping meet the behavioral health needs of Spanish-speaking and English/Spanish bilingual families.
