Brittni Herrera, MD is an assistant professor and general pediatrician in the Department of Clinical Services at the Munroe-Meyer Institute. Herrera is a South Dakota native who has called Omaha, NE home for more than a decade. Her passion for serving individuals with disabilities began early in her life, when she worked for MMI's Recreational Therapy Department as a recreational therapy technician for Camp Munroe and other pediatric programs. She was drawn to the welcoming community and strong sense of belonging fostered at MMI.
Herrera has always had a passion for caring for children. She is inspired daily by their curiosity, resilience, and unique personalities, and finds great joy in being part of their growth and development. During her medical residency, her commitment to general pediatrics deepened, particularly her appreciation for building long-term, meaningful relationships with patients and their families. She is excited to serve as a pediatrician for children of all backgrounds, with a special focus on caring for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Her passion lies in advocating for children, ensuring they receive compassionate, individualized care that celebrates their strengths.
