Education and Research

Our laboratory routinely collaborates on clinical, translational and science research encompassing various cytogenetic and molecular genetic techniques with colleagues within the UNMC community and around the globe.
These collaborations have resulted in hundreds of national and international presentations and peer-reviewed publications. We are committed to genetic education through participation in critical training opportunities including:- Academic courses.
- Cytogenetics conference.
- Fellowships.
- Laboratory tours.
- Job shadows.
- Resident rotation.
Job Shadows and Lab Tours
Individuals and groups interested in expanding their knowledge of laboratory processes and genetic diagnostics can choose to participate in laboratory tours and job shadows, which are scheduled online through the Nebraska Medicine/UNMC job shadowing program.
These opportunities are designed to introduce visitors to the cytogenetic and molecular genetic technologies, and testing performed within our laboratory. Visitors will gain general knowledge of clinical laboratory safety and operations, and direct observation of our laboratory professionals may be available.
