The program can be completed part-time or full-time and is tailored to the needs of the students. The 41-credit hour program is competency-based and will provide students skills in leadership, business and analytical skills, relationship management and communication. 

The UNMC MHA program incorporates a variety of teaching and learning methods driven by adult learning principles. This includes reading, lectures and guest speakers from healthcare administration, discussions, web-based modules, student presentations and teach backs, case studies, reflective learning, and practical applications like developing financial worksheets in our healthcare finance course and developing a business case in our strategic planning course. Team-based activities are also built into multiple courses within the MHA curriculum, recognizing the importance of teamwork in the workplace. In addition, our internship is an external field experience which embeds students in a healthcare organization.

Earn Your Degree Online

The MHA degree can be completed entirely online in an asynchronous format. We offer online courses in the fall, spring and summer.
