The Office of Sustainability

Sustainability Metrics
Since 2010, we at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine have built a strong foundation in sustainability by connecting human health and the local environment to our actions. We have six sustainability goals to accomplish by the year 2030.

Our Story
Our mission began in 2008 with a sustainability committee. Nearly 20 years later, the LiveGreen Ambassadors continue to provide ways for students, staff and faculty to make the UNMC campus a greener place.

Engagement and Education
We have been building a strong foundation in sustainability over the past two decades as demonstrated by our campus wide mixed recycling program, a significant reduction in recent energy consumption and a campus culture that values sustainability.

Get Involved
Want to be a part of the solution? The LiveGreen Ambassador program is an employee resource group of volunteers passionate about incorporating sustainability into their role and department at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine while receiving additional training and support.
