Professional Bio
Spencer is an Assistant Project Director and also works as a Developmental Specialist for Nebraska's neonatal intensive care unit follow-up team. She joined the department in 2022 and completes classroom observations and child assessments in early childcare centers and schools across Nebraska. Additionally, Spencer helps provide in-person developmental assessment to children and families enrolled in the TIPS (Tracking Infant Progress Statewide) program, as well as follow-up with families not seen in clinic. Spencer has been working with children and families since 2015, with expertise in special education and child development.
Prior to becoming an Assistant Project Director, Spencer worked as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher for seven years: two in Lago Vista, Texas, and five in Omaha, Nebraska. Spencer is passionate about serving and advocating for special populations of families and children, and helping connect them to the resources and services they need to be successful.
Spencer provides consultation and program evaluation through the Department of Education and Child Development at Munroe-Meyer Institute.
