Professional Bio
Ybarra joined the MMI Psychology Department as a postdoctoral fellow in August 2026 after earning her PhD in School Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to her postdoctoral fellowship, Ybarra completed a predoctoral internship at MMI, where she provided individual and group therapy and conducted comprehensive psychological assessments with children and adolescents. Her broader clinical training has included school-based and outpatient settings, where she worked with children, adolescents, and young adults with a variety of developmental, behavioral, emotional, and academic needs.
Clinically, Ybarra's work focuses on providing therapy to children and adolescents experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, attention and executive functioning difficulties, and behavioral or emotional challenges. She takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to clinical care and values consultation across systems.
Ybarra provides patient care services at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute's Department of Psychology.
