Professional Bio
Michaela Pierson is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology at MMI, where she is part of the Child and Adolescent Therapy Services (CATS) team. She completed her predoctoral internship at MMI in the Behavioral Pediatrics and Integrated Care track and graduated with her doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Pierson has gained clinical experience across school, outpatient mental health, and primary care settings. Her clinical approach integrates behavioral and cognitive behavioral techniques to best address patient needs. Her specific clinical interests include supporting families with behavioral parenting interventions, as well as assessment and intervention of common pediatric behavioral sleep problems. Additionally, Pierson enjoys working with LGBTQ+ populations to provide inclusive, evidence-based care. She values building strong therapeutic relationships and partnering with families to support their individual goals and strengths.
