Professional Bio

Whitford returned to MMI after obtaining her masters degree in behavior analysis from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2024. While earning her masters, she provided clinical services for individuals who engage in severe forms of challenging behavior in an intensive outpatient caregiver training program, consulted in public schools, and consulted for community-based ABA companies. Clinically, Whitford’s interests focus on the assessment and treatment of severe challenging behavior, caregiver training, and the generalization of interventions to home and community settings. In research, her interests focus on the assessment and treatment of automatically maintained behavior, functional communication training, and improving interventions to teach tolerance to delayed reinforcement. Whitford is pursing her PhD in behavior analysis to continue teaching and mentoring future clinicians, overseeing clinical services, and contributing to research.
