Professional Bio
Smith joined the Speech-Language Pathology department as a clinical fellow in July of 2025. Upon completion of the clinical fellowship, Smith joined the in-patient team as a full-time Speech Language Pathologist. Prior to joining UNMC, Smith worked in a research lab at Boys Town National Research Hospital. Clinically, Smith is interested in acquired brain injuries, disorders of consciousness, augmentative and alternative communication, and provider training. She has explored various clinical growth opportunities and is trained in administration of the JFK Coma Recovery Scale-Revised exam, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing exams, and is MBSImP certified.
