  • Improve society’s science and health research literacy.

Activities

  • Develop hands-on science curriculum.
  • Implement professional development and mentorship for K-12 teachers.
  • Establish science camps for middle school students.

Partnerships and Funding Support

SEPA projects create partnerships among biomedical and clinical scientists, as well as researchers, science educators, schools, museums, science centers, media experts, community leaders and other educational organizations that improve K-12 student and public understanding of the health sciences.

  • SEPA resources target state and national K–12 standards for STEM teaching and learning and are rigorously evaluated for effectiveness.
  • SEPA is sponsored by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, a component of the National Institutes of Health. This website and its content are solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.
