Abbey Klein, PhD, RN

Dr. Klein is an assistant professor and nurse scientist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. She received her associate degree in nursing from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, NE. She received her bachelor of science in nursing, family nurse practitioner post-graduate certificate, and PhD in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Her dissertation research focused on urinary incontinence self-management in midlife, rural-dwelling women.

Dr. Klein dedicated much of her education to the provision of service, both within the UNMC College of Nursing and to the UNMC community at-large. She served on the UNMC Student Senate, CON Nursing Doctoral Student Organization, and several faculty-led committees. She is continuing her student advocacy efforts as the Faculty Mentor to the Nursing Doctoral Student Organization.

Dr. Klein is committed to ensuring the next generation of nurses and nurse practitioners receive a quality education. She currently teaches in the undergraduate pharmacology courses. She seeks to ensure each student feels a sense of belonging. She is looking forward to educating and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in the years to come.
