Katherine Bravo, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC

Dr. Katherine (Kati) Bravo, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC is an Assistant Professor who has worked in academia since 2005.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University, and her Masters and PhD in Nursing from University of Nebraska Medical Center. She currently serves in the role of University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Undergraduate Program Director.  Dr. Bravo is also the Co-Director of the UNMC Health Design Thinking Program where she works with an interprofessional team to embed a human-centered mindset into solving complex problems.

In addition to her current administrative role, Dr. Bravo currently teaches courses in the baccalaureate tracks in the areas of leadership, professionalism and policy.  She is passionate about helping students find value in the diverse qualities of nursing and the ways that a nursing career can enhance their lives and the lives of the patients and families they serve. Dr. Bravo’s research interests include educational enhancements, patient safety and the use of Design Thinking to develop innovative healthcare solutions.
