Victim and Survivor Advocacy and Resources, Advocate Bill of Rights

1. Right to Termination of Services:
   
   The advocate has the right to terminate services should services be deemed unsafe for the advocate.
2. Right to Transfer Client:
   
   The advocate has the right to transfer clients to another advocate if there is a conflict of interest. For example, if the advocate knows the victim/survivor in their personal life (i.e., family member, friend, etc.).
   
   The advocate has the right to transfer clients to another advocate due to services needing to be provided by another agency.
3. Right to Privacy:
   
   The advocate has the right to personal privacy. This includes not adding the victim/survivor as a friend on social media.
   
   The advocate has the right to limit interactions with clients who are no longer receiving services from UNMC OAR.
4. Right to Dignity:
   
   The advocate has the right to be treated with fairness and respect.
   
   The advocate has the right to not be put down by words or actions
