We are no longer enrolling participants in the Heartland Osteoporosis Prevention Study. Check back here for upcoming bone health research opportunities.

Women can lose up to 20% of their bone density during the first years of menopause.

The goal of the Heartland Osteoporosis Prevention Study (HOPS) was to evaluate the best way to prevent bone loss in women during the first five years of menopause. This study compared recommended Calcium and Vitamin D intake to bone-preserving medication or exercise.
