McKenzie Behrendt, OTD, OTR/L
Dr. Behrendt is an assistant professor for the Occupational Therapy program. She received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and her clinical doctorate in occupational therapy from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
She worked clinically in various rural health settings, including home health, assistive living, skilled nursing home, inpatient care, neonatal intensive care, and outpatient care focusing on neurological and orthopedic conditions, driving evaluations, and seating and mobility evaluations.
Dr. Behrendt teaches content related to occupation-based practice with youth and young adults as well as middle and older adults. She also teaches foundational human movement and anatomy concepts.

Dr. Behrendt’s research interest is in the scholarship of teaching and learning, including functional cognition, interprofessional learning activities, competency examinations, and assessing professional reasoning using eLearning and hybrid model strategies.
