Sara Mottl attended Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska, where she earned her associate's degree before continuing education at the University of Cincinnati. There, she completed her Bachelor of Science. She has worked in a variety of laboratory roles, including as a generalist, microbiologist, and laboratory manager. She also taught at Central Community College, where she discovered how much she enjoys helping students learn and grow.
