Satera Nelson, MS

Satera Nelson is an Assistant Professor in the College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP) at UNMC. She received her bachelor degrees in Nutrition Science and Ethnic Studies from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) in 2013. She then worked as a teaching assistant for the anatomy program at UNL for 2 years. It was here that she developed her passion for teaching and thus decided to pursue a master’s degree in Medical Anatomy at UNMC. Upon graduation from this program in 2017, she was hired at UNMC’s Kearney campus and moved to Omaha in 2024.

Satera teaches anatomy for several programs in the College of Allied Health Professions, including Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Radiography, and Occupational Therapy. She actively serves on the CAHP assessment and outcomes committee and UNMC’s diversity fund committee.
