Jessie Poskochil, MGC, CGC
Poskochil obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in 2018. She went on to pursue her Master of Genetic Counseling degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and graduated from the inaugural class in 2021.
Joining the Munroe-Meyer Institute as a genetic counselor in 2021, Poskochil has enjoyed working in a variety of clinics in Nebraska including adult and pediatric hereditary cancer, cancer risk & prevention, pediatric craniofacial, and an outreach clinic in Sioux City, Iowa. She has also recently taken a role as a specialist with the Nebraska Teratogen Information Service.
With a passion for education, Poskochil participates with the UNMC Genetic Counseling Education Program as a co-instructor for their Embryology & Teratology class, a clinical supervisor, and a capstone chair. She was awarded the Outstanding Supervisor Award for the UNMC Genetic Counseling Education Program in 2025. Prior to joining MMI, she taught as the head teaching assistant for the physiology laboratory at UNL, where she was awarded the Kenneth C. Stout Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Award for the School of Biological Sciences.
