Matt Walker joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Allied Health Professions as Director of Academic Affairs in 2026. Prior to joining UNMC, he spent more than two decades at Northwest Missouri State University, where he served in a variety of faculty and administrative leadership roles, including department chair and school director. During his tenure, he led initiatives in curriculum development, academic assessment, online education, and faculty evaluation, while also contributing to university governance and accreditation efforts.

Walker’s academic and administrative work has focused on strategic communication, assessment practices, student success initiatives, and the use of data and educational technology to support continuous program improvement. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, he has taught courses in communication, leadership, and intercultural studies and has participated in institutional committees and search processes related to academic and athletic administration.
