UNMC Enrollment Rises for 25th Straight Year

UNMC’s fall enrollment climbed for the 25th consecutive year – totaling 4,818 students, a 2% increase over last year’s total and a testament to UNMC’s continued focus to grow the state’s health workforce. Enrollment increases were seen across six colleges: allied health professions, dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health. In the past five years, UNMC enrollment has grown steadily, from 4,387 in 2021 to the current total, an increase of 431 total students, or nearly 10%.

University of Nebraska Receives Record Philanthropic Support

The University of Nebraska Foundation announced a record-breaking $416.6 million in private support for the University of Nebraska in the last fiscal year—its first time surpassing $400 million. A record 60,602 donors contributed, marking the highest number of individual supporters in a single year.

UNMC Establishes New Preceptor Office of Excellence

In spring 2025, UNMC established the Office of Community-Based Education and Preceptor Excellence, led by Faye Haggar, EdD. The office provides a centralized administrative structure to support high-quality experiential learning for students, preceptors, clinical partners, and communities across Nebraska and beyond. Its mission is to lead the implementation and evaluation of collaborative, sustainable enhancements to UNMC’s community-based clinical education and preceptor network.
