The Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation traces its roots to the Society for the Relief of the Disabled, created in Omaha on Sept. 16, 1919.

The State of Nebraska proclaimed September 16, 2019, as Munroe-Meyer Institute Day in Nebraska.

The day recognized and celebrated the faculty, staff and volunteers of MMI for their work in the city, the region, and world on behalf of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex health needs. Read more.
