Reed earns statewide contribution award
Jill Reed, PhD, assistant professor in the UNMC College of Nursing – Kearney Division, has been named the recipient of the 2026 AANP State Award for Outstanding Contributions. This award honors individuals who have made significant strides in advancing health care through practice, education, advocacy, research and leadership (PEARL), and have demonstrated efforts to advance the image, profile and visibility of nurse practitioners (NPs). Award recipients will be honored for this achievement at the Salute to the States Award Ceremony on June 26, 2026 at the AANP National Conference in Las Vegas
2025 Nursing Awards Recipients
Lepaine Sharp-McHenry, DNP, dean of the UNMC College of Nursing, was named a 2025 recipient of the NNA Extraordinary Achievement in Nursing Award. Lynne Buchanan, PhD, associate professor the UNMC College of Nursing, was named the 2025 Nebraska Nurses Association Outstanding Nurse Educator.

Morehead Endowed Chair in Nursing, participated in the 2025 Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) Roads Scholar Tour from July 27 to 29. The annual program brings together research, extension and education professionals to give a unique look at the industries and history of Nebraska.
