PhD nursing student earns African American Leadership Award
Felton-Coleman, a PhD student at the UNMC College of Nursing, received an African American Leadership Award as a healthcare leader from the Urban League of Nebraska at its 35th Annual African American Leadership Awards ceremony in August.
2025 Nursing Awards Recipients
Lepaine Sharp-McHenry, DNP, dean of the UNMC College of Nursing, was named a 2025 recipient of the NNA Extraordinary Achievement in Nursing Award. Lynne Buchanan, PhD, associate professor the UNMC College of Nursing, was named the 2025 Nebraska Nurses Association Outstanding Nurse Educator.

The annual program brings together research, extension and education professionals to give a unique look at the industries and history of Nebraska.
