CEPH Accreditation

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health (College) is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).  In July 2017, the CEPH Board of Councilors acted to accredit the College for a seven-year term. CEPH extended this term in December 2021, and it now ends July 1, 2025.

Below are links to the College’s 2016 Final Self-Study document and CEPH’s Final Report.

The UNMC College of Public Health acknowledges and appreciates the contributions from our students, faculty, alumni, and partners.  The CEPH Board of Councilors approved the College’s request to initiate the process to obtain college-wide accreditation in October 2009, and the College received initial accreditation in October 2011.  Prior to the College’s accreditation, the Master of Public Health Program, a joint program between University of Nebraska Medical Center and University of Nebraska Omaha, had been continuously accredited by CEPH since 2002.

The U.S. Department of Education recognizes CEPH as the accrediting body for schools and programs of public health.  Students must graduate from a CEPH-accredited school or program to be eligible to sit for the National Board of Public Health Examiners credentialing examination.
