New Directions for Concussion Care: Early, Often and Active

New Directions for Concussion Care: Early, Often and Active

This symposium will facilitate interdisciplinary discussion among concussion care providers. We will examine the constantly changing field of clinical concussion research and discuss how to apply new research to clinical practice. We will delve into evidence-based concussion care, case studies, and other practical applications to assist providers in integrating the latest guidelines into their practice.

Symposium Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Apply objective data to concussion treatment, interdisciplinary care, new product evaluation, and clinical outcomes.
  2. Evaluate patient symptoms and objective testing profiles considering relevant patient and provider contexts.
  3. Execute effective patient education on the role of injury expectations, interoceptive interpretation, and effort in post-injury experience and recovery trajectory.
  4. Collaborate with providers of similar disciplines to facilitate clinical applications in specific practice settings.
  5. Collaborate with providers of dissimilar disciplines, but similar regional locations, to facilitate inter-community collaborations for clinical concussion care.
