This symposium will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of several rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

Continuing Education Credits

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be better able to:

Differentiate the newly recognized entity of VEXAS syndrome from mimickers such as relapsing polychondritis and other forms of systemic vasculitis.
Implement the most appropriate diagnostic approach for patients with suspected VEXAS syndrome.
Identify common mimickers of systemic sclerosis and means for differentiating these from presentations of diffuse or limited systemic sclerosis.
Identify SSc patient subgroups based on autoantibody testing and outcomes associated with these differing subgroup assignments.
Describe the relationship of COVID-19 with antiphospholipid syndrome and identify evolving laboratory approaches to the diagnosis of APS.
Describe appropriate diagnostic and management strategies for patients with both primary and secondary Sjögren’s syndrome.
Describe recent advances in understanding disease pathogenesis relevant to SSc, APS, and SS.
