This course is designed to examine key health and safety issues specific to rural and agricultural workers.
Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Evaluate the core elements of agricultural health and safety.
- Analyze the anticipation, recognition, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational and environmental illnesses and injuries within rural and agricultural communities.
- Examine safety hazards, emergency response, mitigation methods, and personal protection required for agricultural workers.
- Identify educational resources for patients and stakeholders.
Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designed for professionals who work with or have an interest in agricultural health and safety, including physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, nurses, emergency medical services professionals, health educators, Ag extension, migrant health clinicians, insurance specialists, veterinarians, and safety professionals.
