Welcome! Thank you for joining us.
Thank you for registering for the upcoming pediatric emergency care workshop, hosted by the Nebraska Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program. This engaging half-day workshop will focus on pediatric readiness and effective teamwork through expert-led sessions, hands-on skills training, and immersive simulations—including a cutting-edge Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) drill powered by iWall technology.
As a registered participant, you will gain access to the latest pediatric emergency guidelines, tools, and resources designed to strengthen collaboration and improve outcomes for children across Nebraska.
The workshop will be offered in two sessions—morning and afternoon. Please plan to attend the session you selected during registration, as space is limited.
This collaborative event is proudly presented in partnership with Children’s Nebraska and iEXCEL (Interprofessional Experiential Center for Enduring Learning) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Demonstrate pediatric emergency care skills related to trauma, airway management, bleeding control, and other time-critical interventions.
- Apply pediatric mass casualty incident (MCI) response protocols, including SALT (Sort, Assess, Lifesaving Interventions, Treatment/Transport) triage, to safely and effectively manage pediatric patients during MCIs.
- Integrate Nebraska-specific pediatric emergency guidelines, readiness programs, and available tools into clinical or prehospital practice.
- Implement team-based strategies that enhance collaboration between EMS and hospital personnel to improve pediatric emergency care outcomes.
