2026 Diabetes Update

The 2026 Diabetes Update will deliver an evidence-based overview of current approaches to diabetes management for members of the diabetes care team.

Key topics include diabetes technology, pharmacotherapy, nutrition, bone health, pregnancy planning, and obesity management, as well as strategies for addressing the needs of patients with complex and evolving conditions.

This activity is designed to strengthen multidisciplinary practice by providing clinically relevant updates and practical tools that participants can readily apply in both outpatient and specialty care settings.

Live Stream
Via Zoom – Instructions on how to join the live stream will be sent to registered participants via email a few days before the start of the symposium.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Analyze and interpret diabetes technology data to guide treatment decisions.
Identify medications used to treat diabetes, obesity, and related comorbid conditions.
Describe the impact of nutrition on glycemic control and overall diabetes outcomes.
Recognize strategies for managing diabetes in patients with Type 1 Diabetes, pregnancy, chronic kidney disease, and other complex scenarios.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine. University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians
The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Pharmacists
The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this activity for 7.00 ACPE contact hours. Pharmacists should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 30 days after the activity completion.

Dietitians and Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapists
This activity has been submitted to the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) for prior approval of CPEUs. Approval is pending.

The registration fees are:

Physicians: $135
General Registration: $110
UNMC/Nebraska Medicine Employees: $90
Students/Residents/Fellows: $35

Special Dietary Accommodations:

Requests for special dietary accommodations must be submitted by October 23.
Dietary accommodations are not guaranteed for late or on-site registrants.

Late Registration:

Beginning October 24, all registrations—online or on-site—will be charged the late registration fee of $200.
Late registrants are not guaranteed meals or conference materials, and space is subject to availability.

Online registration will remain open after October 23 at the late registration rate. On-site (walk-in) registrations will also be accepted if space permits.

Credit/Debit Card: We accept credit and debit card payments.
A 2.95% processing fee applies to conference registrations.
All processing fees are non-refundable.

E-Check/ACH Transfer: Electronic check (ACH) payments are strongly recommended and do not incur any additional fees.

Cancel/Refund Policy

If you need to cancel your registration, please email registrationCCE@unmc.edu no later than Oct. 23, 2026. A $25 processing fee will apply to cancellations received by this date. Please note that if you paid by credit or debit card, the card processing fee is non-refundable. Cancellations made after Oct. 23, as well as registrants who do not attend, are responsible for the full registration fee.
