UNMC Davis Global Center
4111 Emile Street, Omaha, NE 68105
Join us for a dynamic and enriching symposium designed to empower emergency medical services (EMS) professionals with the tools and resources needed to strengthen their ability to respond effectively to various high-stakes medical emergencies.
This offering will not only strengthen skills but also honor the dedication and sacrifices of EMS providers who serve our communities.
Through expert-led workshops, interactive case studies, and networking opportunities, attendees will leave equipped with valuable insights, actionable strategies, and renewed motivation to serve their communities effectively.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in specialized training through two distinct tracks tailored to different certification levels:
- General Track (EMR & EMT Levels): This track focuses on foundational principles and practical applications for Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
Sessions will cover essential emergency response strategies, patient care techniques, and situational readiness, ensuring participants gain confidence in handling critical incidents. - Advanced Track (Advanced EMT & Paramedic Levels): Designed for experienced EMS professionals, this track delves into advanced clinical procedures, complex case management, and leadership skills in emergency medicine.
Advanced EMTs and paramedics will explore specialized interventions, high-pressure decision-making, and innovations in pre-hospital care to elevate their expertise.
Note: Participants do not need to hold an advanced certification to join this session; however, familiarity with advanced EMS concepts will be helpful in fully engaging with the content.
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:
- Discuss evidence-based medical approaches in the treatment and management of patients who are undergoing medical emergencies.
- Identify patients that may be experiencing medical emergencies by utilizing various shared tools while also teaching current best practices when working with those patients outside of a hospital setting and in the field.
-
Describe innovative procedures used in the treatment of medical emergencies, demonstrating an understanding of relevant anatomy and related pathophysiology
