UNMC Dr. Stanley M. and Dorothy Truhlsen Campus Events Center
619 S 42nd Street, Omaha, NE 68105
This symposium is a focused educational program designed to enhance clinicians’ understanding of the unique risk factors, clinical presentations, and evidence‑based management strategies related to cardiovascular disease in women.
Expert faculty representing multiple cardiology subspecialties will review gender‑specific determinants of cardiovascular health, discuss atypical and under‑recognized symptom patterns, and highlight current guideline‑directed approaches to screening and treatment.
Through didactic sessions, case‑based discussions, and professional networking, participants will strengthen their ability to recognize, diagnose, and manage cardiovascular disease in women across diverse clinical settings.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Describe gender‑specific risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women and explain how they differ from those observed in men.
- Identify atypical or non‑traditional presentations of cardiovascular disease in women and discuss their impact on timely and accurate diagnosis.
- Apply current evidence‑based guidelines to the screening, risk stratification, and management of cardiovascular disease in women.
In support of improving patient care, University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
