Event: Emerging Professionals Blood Drive competition

When: Entire month of October; Nebraska Community Blood Bank mobile unit opportunity October 21

About: Volunteering is difficult right now. But giving back doesn't have to be. And one of the many things our community needs right now is blood. That’s why we’re inviting YOU to take part in a little friendly competition bound to have a GIANT impact. So, roll those sleeves and flex those muscles. It’s our first annual blood donation challenge between the UNMC/Nebraska Medicine Emerging Professionals and Methodist Emerging Professionals!

Here’s how it works:

  1. During the month of October, donate blood at the Nebraska Community Blood Bank or the American Red Cross. A list of locations can be found below.
  2. Before, during or after giving blood, take a selfie at your preferred donation location, and send it to:
  3. We’ll tally the selfies from each organization at the end of the month, and the organization with the highest percentage of blood donors will not only win bragging rights, but also the TRAVELING TROPHY!
  4. Those who participate will be entered into a giveaway to win new EPP SWAG.

We know that not everyone is able to give blood right now, but you can still participate!  During the month of October, find a friend or family member to "stand in" and donate on your behalf.  Ask them to take a selfie with a sign that states, "I am donating blood on behalf of your name." Then send their photo to us so we can count you as a participant.
