Community engagement is a rewarding and enriching experience for both faculty and students, fostering a stronger connection between academia and the communities we serve.
Through service-learning activities and community-driven research projects, UNMC bridges the gap between theory and practice. Our students gain valuable experiential learning opportunities, and our faculty forge innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.
Student-Led Groups
There are five student-led legacy groups administered through the Office of Community Engagement. The SHARING Clinic is overseen by a student and faculty advisory committee.
Creating an Engaged Campus
The number of activities available in ENGAGE, UNMC's event portal, has almost tripled over the last four years. In 2022 alone:
