The UNMC Core Facility Showcase is a signature event of Research Month designed to connect researchers with the technologies, expertise, and shared resources that support scientific discovery across the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The event brings together faculty, trainees, research staff, and core facility personnel to explore innovative technologies, learn about available research services, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
Through exhibitor engagement, Poster Lightning Talks, presentations highlighting research enabled by UNMC core facilities, and an interactive Research Olympics, attendees will gain greater awareness of the tools, capabilities, and expertise available across the institution. Poster Lightning Talks provide researchers with an opportunity to briefly showcase their work and foster scientific discussion, while core facility presentations demonstrate how specialized technologies and services are leveraged to answer important scientific research questions across the spectrum of basic, translational, and clinical science.
The Core Facility Showcase will increase participants’ ability to identify and apply specialized expertise, technologies, and research resources to address scientific questions, strengthen collaborative research, and advance discovery and innovation.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Select appropriate research technologies, methodologies, and specialized expertise to address important scientific questions within their research programs.
Apply core facility capabilities and team science expertise to develop rigorous approaches for addressing research questions across the translational spectrum.
Compare available technological and methodological approaches based on their suitability for specific research questions, study designs, and anticipated outcomes.
Integrate specialized technologies, shared resources, and expert consultation into current and future research programs to strengthen scientific rigor, feasibility, and impact.
Develop collaborative strategies that leverage multidisciplinary expertise and shared resources to enhance scientific discovery, research efficiency, and translational potential.
This activity is designed for faculty investigators, research scientists, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and professional students, research coordinators, laboratory personnel, research staff, and core facility personnel engaged in basic, translational, clinical, and population health research. Participants who are involved in research design, methodology selection, technology utilization, data generation, research operations, and collaborative scientific initiatives will benefit from this activity through increased awareness of advanced research technologies, specialized expertise, and shared resources available to support rigorous and impactful research.
In support of improving patient care, University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
