The primary thrust of this research is to improve the appearance, wearability and durability of facial prostheses. These prostheses replace missing facial tissues (eyes, ears, nose, etc.) that are lost to trauma or disease. Partial funded support has been provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Other research focuses on evaluating materials that are used to restore decayed or missing teeth. Both internal and external funding sources have supported this research.
