Portrait of Richard Williamson

Richard A. Williamson, DDS, MS, FICD, FACP, is an associate professor for the Department of Adult Restorative Dentistry at the UNMC College of Dentistry. He also serves as the Director of Implants and Student Global Experiences. As a board-certified prosthodontist with over 46 years of dental patient care and teaching experience, Dr. Williamson directs the pre-doctoral implant clinic and provides valuable mentorship to students in treatment planning and direct patient care. He believes humanitarian experiences are a valuable part of students' education and preparation for a career of giving to people in need within the community as well as globally. Students experience unique personal and professional growth when treating patients in an unfamiliar environment, different culture and often with a language barrier. These are life skills that can't be directly taught and must be experienced.

Dr. Williamson is a trustee of the Board of Trustees for the International College of Dentistry Foundation.
