Admission Requirements
Applicants must be pre-approved for enrollment in the Diagnostic Cytology Degree Advancement Option. Applications will be accepted annually to begin the program in the spring semester. The following admission requirements must be met prior to beginning the program in January:
- Be a graduate from the UNMC Cytotechnology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program.
- Be currently employed as a cytologist, cytology supervisor, or laboratory supervisor.
- Be able to screen a minimum total of 2,025 live cytology glass slides as part of their duties at the employing laboratory from start date through the completion date of the DAO program.
- Identify a preceptor and submit the Preceptor Agreement.
